Club Assembly and Grant Seminar

AUGUST ASSEMBLY DEEMED A SUCCESS BY DISTRICT LEADERSHIP

August 10, 2019 – 7545 District Governor Shari Messinger could not have been happier. Of the District’s 55 clubs, 41 were represented at the first annual District Club Assembly held in Flatwoods on Saturday, August 10. The purpose of the district assembly was to train club officers and committee chairs to be more effective in their leaership roles.

All Rotarians who want to continue to make a difference in their communities were encouraged to attend, especially club presidents, presidents-elect, secretaries, membership chairs, public image chairs, Foundation chairs, and Assistant Governors. The day-long event brought together over 100 Rotarians committed to make Rotary and their clubs the best they could be for the 2019-2020 year.

The day-long event opened with a welcome from the District Governor, then shifted to an informative presentation on the Rotary Foundation by RRFC Nancy Barbee. PDG District Trainer, Terry Mathias carried the group into team training before the afternoon sessions.

Afternoon sessions consisted of a session in Membership, Public Image and District Grants training. The District Grants training was a requirement for clubs to apply for 2019-2020 grants. The grant application deadline was set at October 15, with a December 1 approval/disapproval date.
