Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) To Be Virtual This Year
In pre-COVID years, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards offered intensive, yet fun training programs for high school 9th graders. A combination of seminars, interactive meetings, and hands-on service projects, RYLAs were held each year in-person and designed for young adults with proven leadership ability and a commitment to community service.
This year, District 7545 RYLA is going virtual and the new online program will still allow students to discover their potential and help develop the skills needed to be a leader in their communities, school, and everyday life.
Our new online RYLA event scheduled for Saturday, May 8 will offer interaction online and students will:
- Develop leadership skills and character
- Gain exposure to a variety of issues and people
- Meet active community leaders
- Learn valuable information and career skills
RYLA participants are nominated by our District Rotary Clubs, and the clubs usually cover all expenses associated with the weekend-long program. This year, of course, does not include an overnight stay and meals, so registration fee has been reduced to $25 for materials and a T-shirt.
Registration forms for the 2021 Rotary District 7545 virtual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) conference, scheduled for May 8, 2021, may be found at the link below.
We are accepting both 9th and 10th-grade students this year since we were unable to have a RYLA conference last year.
The registration deadline is April 9, 2021.
