Semi-Annual Blood Screening at Bridgeport Middle School
February 10, 2019 – The Rotary Club of Bridgeport Rotary Club sponsors a semi-annual, multi-phasic blood testing program each year. The first session of 2019 will be held at the Bridgeport Middle School on Saturdays, Feb. 16 and 23 from 7-10 a.m.
Proven to be an inexpensive and effective health screening opportunity, especially for those without a personal physician, the blood testing program is now in its 38th year. For only $45, an individual can have the basic 39 test that includes chemistry, lipids and complete blood count. There are more specific blood profiling options available as well as subject matter experts are on hand to assist with any questions. Most insurances are accepted, but one must have a signed prescription,
Since 10 hours of fasting is recommended, the club – at no charge – provides a pancake and sausage breakfast following the testing.
The Rotary Club of Bridgeport annually provides several volunteer hours to the community. They raise and distribute thousands of dollars for local and international service programs, and focus on local youth academic and athletic projects. Recently, the club has been assisting with the rebuilding of the Hundred Volunteer Fire Dept., which was damaged in a severe flooding event. For more information about the blood program, call Nathan Rakestraw at (304) 641-3642.
